BRL-CAD is a open source CAD program. It is a ‘solid modelling’ Computer Aided Design (CAD) package that allows digital 3D-shapes can be created. The package is being developed since 1983. The software is originally designed to be in command of the American army, since 2004, is the software available under an open source license.
The program is suited for professional operations, but the user must still have a lot of knowledge and experience with CAD software.
This CAD-software is actively developed and the project has, among others, participated in the Google Code-in 2012.
