PixArea is an image processing application, which contains a specific interface for advanced photo processing. The regions of interest (ROI, in slang) can be calculated without using microscopic image acquisition techniques. The region will be marked with a black path on the histograms, and the scanned image that results from this will be displayed directly on the PixArea interface.
The idea is to saturate the Region of Interest with violet color, and the normal one with cyan blue. The remaining background is colored white. PixArea will compute the pixels each time we click on the corresponding area of the image. When we press the 'Calculate' button located at the bottom, the numerical value of the colored area will appear on the screen as a percentage. If we press the one at the top, this region will be calculated in square millimeters. All this information can be generated and printed in a report file.
NOTE: PixArea needs scanned images in the form of 24-bit bitmaps to function properly. This is because the program evaluates the pixels and their RGB values every time we click on the image.
