Portaneo is one of those applications, and it will help you to create a completely personalized homepage, to your liking and measurement, dynamic (it is developed with AJAX) and organized in modules.
The Portaneo interface is organized in tabs. Drop and drag files where you are most interested, and insert in the modules any type of information you need or want to see: subscriptions to RSS feeds, emails, weather forecasts, notes or personal notes ... everything you want.
The only requirement is that you will have to have an Apache (or compatible) web server and use MySQL for the database.
