Sharp Archiver is an interesting free (open source) application for compressions. Sharp Archiver uses CAKE3, which allows you to handle up to 47 file extensions.
The program is responsible for creating, opening, deleting or extracting all types of files, of which we can mention ZIP, 7ZIP, TAR, GZIP, BZIP2, ARC, ARJ, ASD, ACE, MIME, B64, BEL, DEB, YZ1, F, FRZ, IICL, ICO, CAB, JAM, LHA, LZH, LZS, HQX, CPT, DMG, PIT.PAK, WAD, RAR, RPM, SQX, MACBIN, CPIO, SHAR, UUE, XXE, IMP, YENC, ZOO, EAR, JAR, WAR, WSZ, MSKIN, BZS, WAL, WMZ.
Sharp Archiver includes a multi-extraction tool, a file conversion tool and a tool to encrypt and decrypt files that generate protected files (SAE). Its interface is very clean, nothing confusing, and very easy to follow. All this and much more in a great little program.
NOTE: For it to work properly, it is necessary to have.Net Framework 2.0 or higher installed.
