Any of us, when we have needed to take a screenshot, have resorted to some of the hundreds of applications that are on the market for such purposes. However, all of them require us to have to take captures, either of the entire screen, or of a specific area but always in a predefined way (usually, a square or rectangular area). But what if we need to make a capture with a different shape? Do we have to resign ourselves to the usual square type and then crop the image with a graphic editor? Nothing of that! Now we have Snippy.
Snippy is a small and simple tool to take screenshots. Its appearance is very basic, but its greatest virtue lies mainly in the ability to capture specific regions of the screen, without necessarily having to adhere to the limits of a square. We can define the area we want to capture even freehand, avoiding that objects outside our interest get into the capture.
Snippy is installed on our system as an icon in the taskbar. By clicking on it, we can begin the capture process. In addition to doing it freehand, we can also opt for the classic rectangle, yes, always having the shift” key pressed when executing the selection.
