Soundmaps is a simple, small and effective program that performs an unusual task: extracting sounds from images. To work with it, simply open the program, select the extraction mode and that's it. Each image will emit a different sound.

It comes equipped with 6 different modalities:

• Kritsj: Bitmap data (BMP) is sent to the sound board.

• Kratsj: frequency for time domain conversion that is loaded before the output of the sound card.

• MIDI (Mode 3): sounds are generated using harps and banjos on a dodecaphonic scale in which six instruments are used.

• Classic 1: blues chords are played by the piano and bass, also using six instruments.

• Classic 2: a heptaphonic scale waltz is generated.

• Almost Nix: mode yet to be defined that does not seem to do much.

Music in some cases is electronic. The Best of Windows disk that comes as an example has been created with this tool. Undoubtedly, a unique program where there are, recommended only for the most curious.
