Sometimes, when we want to change the name of a file in the Windows XP operating system, we make a mistake and change not only the name but also the extension. The problem then is that the file (for example if it is of RAR extension) is not allowed to be decompressed.
To avoid these conflicts we have before us a free and very light program called TheEnd, which is responsible for modifying the behavior of Windows XP when renaming files, doing the same thing that Windows Vista does in this matter: deselect (or rather: do not select by default) the file extension when you are going to rename a file. So using TheEnd it is virtually impossible to rename extensions incorrectly or by mistake.
We have to emphasize that the creators of TheEnd have taken care of some details that are welcome. For example, the F2 key continues to function as a shortcut to change file names (this behavior is not modified with respect to the original Windows Vista). It is also possible to access the renaming function by clicking twice (not consecutive, but spaced) on the name of the file in your Explorer, instead of always having to use the Windows context menu. In short, TheEnd is one of those little tools that can make it very easy for us every day in front of our PC.
You can free download TheEnd 32, 64 bit and safe install the latest trial or new full version for Windows 10 from the official site.
