XINS is an advanced framework for web services. It is a technology used to define, create and invoke remote APIs. APIs are defined in simple XML format, and later specifications in HTML or OpenDocument format, test forms, XML schema, Java client and all server-side code are generated from the specifications.
APIs accept SOAP, REST, XML-RPC, Yahoo! JSON, JSON-RPC and much more. Various examples are included in XINS in Java, PHP, Perl and Ajax. XINS also has commands to generate unit tests or to execute the APIs themselves. Its main objective is always simplicity and usability.
