The Plaxo program asks you to register (also for free) as a Plaxo user in order to be in contact with other users and access the contents of your calendar from the web. (This has the advantage that you can check your calendar from any computer in the world with an Internet connection).
It also has the reminder function and allows you to customize the signature of your messages.
