BaseX is a native database in XMl. The main features are compact storage structures, a very efficient implementation of XPath and XQuery and also a graphical interface that greatly facilitates visual access to stored data. BaseX is a completely free application, written in Java and barely a megabyte in size. It is developed by the group of Databases and Information Systems of the University of Konstanz.
Main functions of BaseX:
* It has support for XQuery 1.0, reaching 99.3% in the W3C test for XQuery.
* Partial support for full text of XQuery.
* Several indexes, including a full-text index (this is possible thanks to the implementation of XPath 1.0).
* Graphical user interface interactions for XML updates.
* Query panel to introduce our XPath and XQuery.
* Table view to get a flat and clear view of any conventional XML document in the program.
* There is no lack of help, to resolve any questions that may arise.
* Command syntax completely revised from top to bottom.
NOTE: Being written in Java, BaseX requires that we have Java Runtime Environment installed on our computer.
You can free download BaseX 32, 64 bit and safe install the latest trial or new full version for Windows 10 from the official site.
