Faind is a text search utility that is handled through the command line, and that will be very useful for finding files that meet certain criteria, as well as for executing some operations on them.
We can search for files in a hierarchical directory structure, as well as in other files or in compressed packages (at this point Faind supports all popular formats, including ZIP, RAR, GZIP, BZIP2, TAR, 7ZIP, ARJ), on web servers (HTTP or FTP), local area networks (includes integrated port tracker) ... as you can see, it is a very flexible program that allows you to act in different places and supports. In addition, we can also print all the information you find about these files.
Faind can search for the following file types: TXT (any type of text, plain text, ASCII, utf8, utf16, European, Asian encodings, etc.), RTF (rich text format), PDF, HTML, XML, MS Word DOC , Excel XLS, Visio, PowerPoint, Access databases, OpenOffice SWX documents, DBF, MP3, OggVorbis, JPEG image file tags.
On the other hand, the search results can also be stored in several formats: plain text (utf8), HTML (similar to the page we would obtain in an Internet search system) or XML schemas.
When conducting the actual searches, the Faind engine allows us to use regular expressions, wildcards, proximity operators and Boolean operators (OR, AND, NOT). This gives us enormous flexibility when looking for anything. And finally, a surprising function: a morphological analyzer that allows to distinguish whether the texts searched are in Russian, French, English or English.
You can free download Faind 32, 64 bit and safe install the latest trial or new full version for Windows 10 from the official site.
