The very company Microsoft, parents of the celebrated Windows operating systems, has created this exceptional racing game, named after Midtown Madness, where motor competitions are held in winding urban settings that are inspired by the cities of San Francisco and London.
This shareware or evaluation version of Midtown Madness only includes two cars (the powerful Ford Mustang Fastback and the small but agile Mini Cooper Classic), a city (San Francisco) and the possibility of multiple players participating simultaneously in the career known as "Wrong Way", as well as in a section specially enabled for accidents.
The graphics are excellent if we consider the date of publication of the game (1999), and the feeling of speed is really dizzying. The races, in addition to deciding on the ability of the drivers to take the curves for the best possible route, will also be very conditioned by the large number of jumps, stunts, crashes and accidents that occur in each of the competitions offered by Midtown Madness. In addition, the game allows the user to put his own music to the program from the CD drive, so that the experience is as realistic as when we drive in our own car.
