You want (large) share files via a direct connection between your laptop, tablet or smartphone? It can be a lot faster, safer and more efficient than via e-mail. One of these free alternatives is Send Anywhere.
Send Anywhere brings two devices to connect with each other by using a temporary generated key. The sender selects on his or her device one or several files, this can be on a Windows, Mac or Linux computer or a mobile device on Android, Windows Phone or iOS is running. Send Anywhere then generates a unique six-digit access code that the sender to the receiver. After the recipient this access key has been entered the file transfer begins.
You can transfer the file directly to start by the receiving device to select from a list of nearby or recently used devices.
The files are always transferred over an encrypted internet connection. If you are still safer access keys want to use, then you can in the settings choose to use the key generator of numbers and letters together. The sent files are never on the servers of Send Anywhere stored. The transfer takes completely place via a P2P (peer-to-peer) connection. When, for whatever reason, a direct P2P connection is not possible, the data through an efficient node-server without this in-between to save.
Sent files remain up to 48 hours to be ready for receipt. When the recipient still has not downloaded then the consignor must again give the command.
The service can be either Wi-fi, LAN and cellular connectivity to use. Both the receiver and sender are not required to the software or apps to install.
Both the uploading and downloading can be via the Send Anywhere website. This is also the big advantage of this service. It is usable on almost any device that is connected to the internet and every operating system.
