Hex's authors call it a strategy game, although perhaps it has more of the classic Tres en Raya than strategy. Anyway, it ends up being a fun entertainment to hang out.
Hex's goal is very simple: each player has his own color (blue or red) and must try to get from one side of the board to the other by joining the chips of his color; when he gets to the other side he will have won. But of course, at the same time you have to prevent your opponent from also coming from one side to another, so it will not be as easy as it seems at first glance.
Hex is totally free and, in addition, does not even require installation.
