There is still more to do to have identity fraud, where attackers use your personal information to, for example, products or services in your name. It is therefore necessary that you carefully deals with your personal information, such as your passport or identity card. There is often a hotel, car rental company or an other occasion in addition to your passport and is there even a copy will be made. Not necessary, but a lot of people are that. Than it is in any case important that your social security number is protected. That is why the Dutch government the app KopieID launched. So with your smartphone simply take a safe copy of your identity card, passport or driver's license.

There are few organisations that have a copy of your id, such as your employer or bank, but it often happens that organizations that did not may still request a copy. That is not necessary, because the check is already sufficient.
Committing identity theft is a lot more difficult if your identity well protected. You do that by your social security number to mask, so that the third party is not more to read. Of course, it's quite difficult to put it on your id card itself to do and that's the reason this app as called. You need the app to have access to the camera on your phone and expressly consent to the copy of your id on your phone to save.
The app works very simple. On the main screen, you'll see the option to make a copy of your identity card. If you click on the blue bar click will take you to a new screen and from there you create directly a photo of your identity card, passport or driver's license.
Ensure that your document is within the angles to be photographed. You will then see the photo in the app will appear and then you need your social security number, go to mask. You do that by using your finger over your social security number, and any other information that the receiver does not need, to sweep. There will appear a black line over the number. If that is not successful, you can click on "Undo" and do it again. If you are satisfied, and the number is unrecognizable created, click on 'Done'.
Then is the copy easy for someone to e-mail from the app. You enter the name of the recipient, the target where the copy is intended and then is the copy directly to email or to share via your messenger. The app automatically fills in the date. Of course, you must continue to be careful that the copy is not in the hands of crooks, but if they still have their hands on it, will commit fraud a lot more difficult.
