Zappelin is the free app of the eponymous children's program on NPO 3 for children up to six years old. On the Zappelin app, children can play games, draw, listen to children's songs, be read aloud and watch videos. Videos that you can see include broadcasts from Sesame Street, Sand Castle, Hoela Hoep and KRO Childhood.
Funny is that stories are also read, where children can turn the pages themselves. There are also coloring pages and a few games to entertain your kids with. Zappelin is a fun, varied app to keep your children busy for a while.
Downside is that the movies must first be fully loaded before they can be played. A big advantage is that downloaded videos remain available on your phone or tablet for ten days (also offline). Before you go on holiday, you can download a large number of videos that will remain in place for a week and a half (after that - due to rights issues - they will be automatically deleted).
