HDR is an abbreviation for "High Dynamic Range". HDR images have a high dynamic range which means that both very bright and very dark areas are displayed. HDR images are also called HDRI (High Dynamic Range Imaging). Picturenaut is a free software application that HDR images can be created.
Picturenaut is a free HDR software that lets you realistic HDR images (HDRI's), you can create multiple digital photos with different exposure settings to merge.
To a HDR image to create you must first with an ordinary digital camera take several photos in succession with different exposure settings. This allows you, for example, by the bracket function. Allows you three different pictures behind each other. One photo is taken with the correct exposure, one with underexposure and one overexposure. These photos can then be using Picturenaut to merge into one HDR image (HDRI). The result is a photo with a high dynamic range in which both the bright and dark parts are clearly shown.
