Sky Map is a bit like Layar. However, this app does not show an extra layer of information at street level, but in space. When you point your phone at the starry sky you can look up all the constellations and see the names of stars and planets. If you are looking for a constellation, or see a star or planet and are curious as to what your name is, you can now use this app.
Sky Map was developed at Google by employees in their free time under the name Google Sky Map. The source code was released by Google in 2012 and the app is simply called Sky Map.
