Google Docs is Google's online response to Microsoft Office. You do not need an office package installed on your PC, but you can open, edit and save documents, spreadsheets and presentations via your internet browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari and Chrome). You can then save these files to your own account using Google Docs. This way you can always access your documents at home, at work and during holidays. There are also Google Docs apps for Android and iOS.
Google Docs (Google Docs) is the online office package from Google. It consists of a word processor, spreadsheet application and presentation program. Google Documents can handle the usual Microsoft Office formats such as Word documents (doc), Excel sheets (xls) and PowerPoint presentations (ppt). The Open Document Format (odf) is also supported.
You can get started with Google Docs if you already have a Gmail account. Otherwise you can create a Google account for free. Google Docs has been translated into Dutch and has Dutch spell check. The application also offers online storage space for 5,000 documents. Conveniently, you can work on documents with multiple people at the same time by sharing them with others.
Google Docs is a very nice office package, but you will still miss some advanced features. The advantage is that Google Docs is in full development. So who knows how far the web application can come from Google. Perks are that you can view the revision history of documents and that you can publish documents (and open them to others) as a web page.
Android and iOS
Google Docs is Google's alternative to Word on smartphone and tablet. You can create and edit documents and it is also possible to work with other users on the same file. This can be useful, for example, for people working on a project together. Google Docs works both online and offline. Your files are constantly automatically stored online so that you never lose your work if you forget to save. This way you can continue working on your documents on any device at any time.
The Google Docs interface is very well-arranged and well-designed and fits in nicely with the other Google apps. Google Docs is free to download for Android, iPhone and iPad.
You can free download Google Documenten and safe install the latest trial or new full version for Windows 10 (x32, 64 bit, 86) from the official site.
