A sequencer in the music world, used in a series of places of MIDI (Music Instrument Digital Interface) events. It does not, therefore, the actual audio of, for example, a keyboard, but how hard a key is struck and in what order and pace this is done. This information is then forwarded to a synthesizer or other sound source.
