SmartFeud is fairly similar to Wordfeud. It is a fun word game, that you not only against one opponent, but even against three or four other users. A game of SmartFeud is an excellent way to give your brain a good workout. For anyone who has seen a game of Scrabble or Wordfeud plays, will SmartFeud a feast of recognition. The game itself and the design are familiar.
The game is available in English, that means that you play according to the Dutch dictionary, and you select the language directly when you use the app for the first time. It then notifies you via you Facebook or Instagram account, or you register yourself with your e-mail address. You will end up on the main screen, where you will find all categories of the game. Here you will find the settings, view the statistics of all your games, please, read the rules of the game and invites friends to the game with you to play. Further, the mode of the game, where you have a choice between normal and professional. Just like you do with Wordfeud is the sign to change from default to random.
In order to start a new game, click ‘Play’, then you indicate with how many players you want to play. You invite a well-known or choose a random opponent. You can put your words on the game board, that looks just like a scrabble board. Under the board you will find all your letters. You create a word and click on ‘Play’. The letters to erase is still an option, or you are exchanging letters. What SmartFeud distinction of Wordfeud or Scrabble, is the option for each turn, the player a letter to take away from the board, to that then, yourself to use. It is a nice addition, and the game more exciting and more interesting, and you have more possibilities to form new words.
You will get a notification when your opponent has played and you turn again. By default, the waiting time to 48 hours, but you will shorten the maximum time to wait simply. Communicate with other players if you want to use the built-in chat. You play multiple games at the same time. In addition to the free version there is a paid version, with more possibilities. The ‘Professional mode’ is only available for paying users.
