If Fing is first started, it scans the application to the wireless network to which you are connected. You can see all the connected devices with the assigned IP address, the unique MAC address and the manufacturer of the device. When you navigate to one of the attached devices, or a device that was previously connected to your network, you can also see when the connection was last active.
If you have connectivity issues with a particular device, then you can by using the "ping" function to check if the device is responding. You also have the option, when you have a computer with a network card with wake-on-lan function, with the application startup time.
